Elina Lang

Finnish-American cellist Elina Snellman-Lang  has appeared in some of the worlds leading concert venues, including Carnegie Hall, The Kimmel Center, Lincoln Center, Finlandia Hall, Mann Auditorium-Tel Aviv, Suntory-Hall Japan, Disney Hall and the Kennedy Center.

Elina has performed with the Israel Philharmonic, Helsinki Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony  Orchestra,  American Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, and the Philly Pops, as well as on Broadway. She has worked with Zubin Mehta, Kurt Masur, Lorin Maazel, Daniel Barenboim, Claudio Abbado, Paavo Berglund, Sergiu Comissiona, Yoel Levi, Gary Bertini, and Jacques Lacombe.

Elina is a member of the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey, The New York Scandia Symphony, and the Boheme Opera of New Jersey. She is an active chamber musician, cello teacher and orchestral coach., A music faculty member at the Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey, Elina has also worked with the young musicians of the New Jersey Symphony Academy Orchestra, New York Youth Symphony, New Jersey Youth Symphony, Delaware Youth Orchestra, and the Lohja Summer Music Festival in Finland. Elina is the former Principal cello of the Herzliya Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonietta Nova, Music from St. Catharines, and The Sebastian String Quartet. She has participated in the Spoleto, OK Mozart, Bard, and InterHarmony music festivals.

Elina attended The Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv, and earned her Master of Music Degree from The Mannes College of Music. She has with studied with Seppo Laamanen, Marcel Bergman, Emanuel Gruber, Paul Tobias, Timothy Eddy, Aldo Parissot, Janos Starker, and Boris Pergamenschikow. Elina was a recipient of the Wihuri Award in Finland,The Mannes Music Scholarship, and winner of the Herliya Chamber Orchestra’s solo competition.
