Collegium Musicum and Garden State Opera present a special production in
honor of Italian Composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736)

Join us for an unforgettable night of classical brilliance! 🎶

Collegium Musicum and the Garden State Opera will present a special production in

honor of Italian Composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736).

First in the program will be Stabat Mater, an oratorio, that Pergolesi composed on a 13th-century Christian hymn to the Virgin Mary that portrays her suffering as mother during the crucifixion of her son Jesus Christ, it will be sung in Latin.

Second piece will be the comic opera La Serva Padrona (The Servant Mistress) a 1733 intermezzo by Pergolesi to a libretto by Gennaro Federico, the opera will be sung in Italian, will be staged, both works will have English supertitles and a chamber orchestra.

The performance will take place at the St Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church (333 Rt 18, Old Bridge NJ 08857) on November 2nd 2024, at 7 PM.

Doors open at 6:30 pm Concert starts at 7 pm.

Our venue is handicap accessible.

We are thrilled to be able to bring this concert to Old Bridge, NJ at St. Thomas the Apostle with help from the National Endowment for the Arts, Jersey Arts and New Jersey Counsel for the Arts , and New Jersey Music and Arts, Inc.

Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund and New Jersey Music and Arts, Inc.
